My Weekend {According to Instagram}

I spent this weekend at my parent’s house, in Colorado. Going home for a few weeks at the beginning of summer is puts me in much needed rehabilitation, relaxation, and restoration mode. It’s also so nice to spend time with my family, who I have missed dearly. Here is little snapshot of what my weekend looked like…

Friday:

Since I have a tendency to wake up closer to a lunch hour rather than a breakfast hour, we can call this my brunch. Or pre-hike meal. Ava & tomatoes, chicken breast, broc, and a few sweet potato fries.

My Mom and I went on a two and half hour hike at Daniel’s Park.  The trail was really flat and simple, so it was very casual and more like a trail walk than a hike, but it was still enjoyable thanks to this view of the Rocky Mountains. Spent the night watching Arrested Development with my family, we seriously can’t get enough of the crude humor, it’s semi ridiculous how much we’ve been watching it.

Ran quite a few errands with my Mom including my favorite, the shops at Cherry Creek North. These were just a few of my favorite finds in the décor boutiques.

Stopped at Sugarlicious to get our mid afternoon shopping fix. Mom got an English toffee and sorry but how cute is the pretzel? Had to.

Macaroons are semi-annoying at this point but honestly couldn’t turn them away in trinket box form. Perfect to store my favorite rings & things.

Jonathan Adler store, always a favorite.

At Lowes and I couldn’t resist.

Honestly, I apologize for how horrendous this photo is. You’re probably not going to even want to try this recipe after my photog skills but I swear, it’s actually really yummy and perfect for a spring time dinner. I really need to upgrade my iPhone (waiting for the 6?) so my food pictures will actually look appetizing rather than compromising (lol).

Sunday:

Woke up bright and early to head to the mountains for my cousin’s Confirmation. Lovely or grueling? I’ll let you decide. No photo, mornings aren’t my thing.

Oh just my monochromatic snack…

Highlight of the weekend: the Denver Zoo. The weather was so beautiful and all the animals were out to play. My phone died a little less than half way into the day (and then my Mother’s shortly after), so here are the photos I managed to snap. Favorite: lion cubs (not pictured, so depressed about it).

Random notes & thoughts:
-Sadly, I took my nail polish off (My Vampire is Buff by OPI is my current go to) in attempts to get some life back into my nails. Along with taking biotin, vitamin E, omega 3, a B-complx, and women’s multi vitamin to help my nails (and hair) grow stronger, I painted on a coat of Nail Envy by OPI. Trying to salvage the damage of two years+ of acrylics and gels. Like whyyyy?
-Waiting for my Wen to come in the mail, I picked up the Organix Keratin Oil conditioner at Target to hold me out. So far, I’m LOVING it. The Organix brand had so many choices which made it hard for me, but I ended up choosing this one because it has keratin AND argan oil (oil of the gods for your hair, see my post on growing hair long & strong for more info). Has anyone tried the Organix brand before? Thoughts?
-I’m so horrible about taking photos of myself, or having other’s take them for me… of me. If that makes sense. I’d really like to work on that moving forward.
-It’s now 4am on Sunday night. It just now came to me that I can set the post to publish at a set time. Genius.

Beverly Hills Home Tour: Lisa Vanderpump

One of my all time favorite interior design looks is the regal, feminine, glam look that Lisa Vanderpump of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills implemented into her lavish Beverly Hills home. The $12 million dollar home is decorated in pure pink perfection, as Lisa accents her dominantly black, white, cream, and silver décor with pastel pink and some lilac. Many would describe Lisa’s interior decorating style as over the top glam, and that it may be, with the glitz of over 13 crystal chandeliers, tufted couches and headboards, and glossy mirrored pieces adorning her grand home. Feminine touches such as flowers, white washed vintage textiles, art galleries, and romantic candle sticks add to the glamorous ambiance.

Pictures of various rooms in her new Beverly Hills home have been circulating through many interior design and “dream home” boards on Pinterest for the past four months, which is where I originally came across them and fell in love. Literally obsessing over the rooms, I did some research to find out that they were the work of none other than, my favorite character on RHOBH. She acts like a queen, she obviously lives like one too. This house is the epitome of my dream décor, so I just had to share. Here’s a mini tour of Lisa Vanderpump’s regal new Beverly Hill’s home.

A DASHing Office Space

Keeping up with the Kardashians is easier said than done, as the LA and Atlanta based designer Brian Patrick Flynn, soon found out when he was given the challenge of creating three office spaces for Kardashian Jenner Communications. His work is always wonderful and these offices are no exception. I could stare at these rooms all day and not bat an eye. Lucky for Liz Killmond, who handles the affairs of the younger sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, she gets to do just that.

The black and white striped walls create a bold yet sleek look that define the space. Functional details include the large gold framed chalkboard and cobalt blue porcelain lamps. The symmetry of his work never ceases to strike a chord with me, as the arraignment of the decor is flawlessly placed.

The details are immaculate with diverse textures and patterns that come together through the accent color. The navy and cream Moroccan vase and the blue ikat pillows are a perfect example of how to properly mix patterns.

Noelle Keshishian’s office is my absolute favorite. I die for the wallpaper, I love anything with a metallic element and I’ve always been a fan of Moroccan prints. The black desk makes a simple statement and is accented perfectly by the mirrored console. Again, he’s after my heart with the symmetrical placing of the beautiful black lamps and continues to kill it with the modern chandelier. My love affair with lighting doesn’t end here…

The black chandelier in the extra office, which was created for future employees of the expanding Kardashian Jenner empire, is the perfect style to offset the wooden desk and graphic wallpaper and rug.

If I could spend a day of my working life in an office that looks remotely similar to these works of art, I’d die a happy girl. A job well done to Brain P Flynn who successfully kept up with the Kardashians.
